Granny Cheatham Green Beans
ingredients
- 2 Med. Cans Green Beans
- 2 Slices of Bacon
- 1/2 cup Onions or 1 TB onion flake (slice onion like you would for a hamburger)
- 1/2 Cup brown sugar
- salt/pepper to taste (I use a lot of pepper)

Granny always used green beans that she canned from her garden, but I rarely have those, so I buy Allen’s. You can find them at any grocery store and they are made in KY. Empty green beans(including liquid) in 3qt. pan. Cook bacon for 2 minutes in the microwave, then add to green beans. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for at least 30 minutes...the longer the better.
