ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry -- thawed
  • 1/4 cup course grained Dijon mustard

directions

Smooth out the creases on the puff pastry and spread with the mustard. Starting on one short side, roll the pastry halfway to the center. Turn, and roll the other side. Press together slightly and wrap in plastic wrap. Place in freezer for at least 3 hours.

To cook the palmiers: remove the pastry from the freezer and allow to sit at room termperature for 15 minutes. While the pastry is resting preheat the over to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. cut the palmiers in slices about 1/2 inch thick and place 1/2 inch apart on the baking sheet. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden and serve immediately.

notes

Palmiers may be made ahead and frozen. Reheat in a 350 degree oven for 5 minutes. Can use other flavored mustards.
