Bubble bread
Some people refer to this as monkey bread. Whatever you want to call it, it is yummy. And if you want a shortcut, use pre-made biscuit dough.
ingredients
- 2 packages dry yeast
- 1 cup hot(not boiling) milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup veg oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 1/2-5 cups flour
- 1/2-1 cups melted butter
- 1 1/2cups cinnamon sugar
- 1-1 1/2 cups crushed nuts
directions
- 1
In a large bowl mix yeast, milk, and sugar, let stand 3-5 minutes.
- 2
With a fork beat in oil, eggs and salt.
- 3
With a wooden spoon beat in 2 cups flour. Add crushed nuts and blend. Add 2 1/2 cups flour and beat 2-3 minutes longer until mixture forms a soft dough which comes away from sides of the bowl. If dough seems too wet add remaining 1/2 cup of flour.
- 4
Turn dough onto lightly floured surface and knead 8-10 minutes. Put dough into greased bowl turning once to bring greased side up. Cover bowl with a damp towel and let stand in a warm place for about 1 hour or until double in volume.
- 5
Punch down dough and pull off tiny pieces of dough and roll into balls(about 1-1 1/2”) Roll each ball in butter and then cinnamon sugar and place in a greased bundt pan. Make sure balls are placed evenly and bake at 325 for about 45 minutes.
notes
Another alternate of this is to mix 3/4 cup of sugar with 1/2 cup melted butter. after the bread is put together pour the mixture over it.
