Cinnamon Applesauce
ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 pounds tart green apples such as Granny Smith (7 or 8 apples)
- 1 tsp cinnamon

In a large pot, combine the water, lemon juice, and sugar. As you peel, core and chop the apples, drop them into the pot. Cover and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar. Reduce heat to low and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the apple chunks are reduced to a smooth sauce.

Remove from the heat stir in the cinnamon and let cool.

Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
