Smokestack Baked Beans
ingredients
- 4 Slices Bacon or Ham
- 1 (40,60, or 80 oz.) Can Pork and Beans (Drained)
- 3/4 C. Brown Sugar
- 1 Tbs. Minced Onion
- 1 Tbs. Chili Powder or 1 1/2 tsp BBQ Seasoning
- 1 Tbs. Prepared Mustard
- 1 1/2 tsp. Liquid Smoke
- 1 1/4 C. BBQ Sauce
- 1/4 Sorghum

Cook bacon over medium heat to remove grease, not until crispy.

Combine all other ingredients in a large 3 quart baking dish. Add bacon.

Bake uncovered at 325 degrees for 60-75 minutes.

Cook on low in a crockpot for 6-8 hours. Remove the lid during the last hour to allow beans to thicken.
notes
Possible substitures for sorghum are honey, molasses or maple syrup.
