sorbet in a sack
today i’m making my special sorbet in a sack. armed with just a couple of plastic bags and some rock salt i will transform this fruit juice into a refreshing sorbet in just minutes. its the perfect snack after a busy day of play, work or adventuring!
ingredients
- one full tray of ice cubes
- 1 gallon ziploc freezer bag
- one pint freezer bag
- 6 tablespoons of rock salt
- half a cup of mango juice
directions
- 1
empty ice cubes into a 1 gallon freezer bag that has been carefully inspected to assure that it is hole free.
- 2
add rock salt to the ice cubes to suffice as the freezing agent for the sorbet.
- 3
pour delicious mango juice into a one pint freezer bag with a zippy seal. (if i am in the mood for a frosty creamy treat, i use one a cup of half and half fortified with a tablespoon of sugar and a splash of vanilla or a spoonful of chocolate syrup.)
- 4
smoosh as much air out of the bag and securely seal the mango juice in. then place the sealed bag into the large bag of ice.
- 5
make sure any excess air is out of the larger bag and seal it shut.
- 6
set timer for 5 minutes.
- 7
wrap the bag in a towel and shake it around for five minutes.
