Brownies, Marvelous Mint
Rich and Refreshing. Valla always won rave reviews from these delicious, melt in your mouth brownies.
ingredients
Brownies From Scratch (or use a mix) and add Topping)- Brownie:
- 1/2 Cup Butter
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla
- 2 - 1oz Squares Chocolate, melted (double boiler)
- 1/2 Cup sifted Flour
- 1/2 Cup chopped Walnuts (optional)
- Frosting:
- 1 Cup Sifted Confectioners Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons soft Butter
- 1 Tablespoon Cream
- 1/4-1/2 teaspoon Peppermint Extract
- drop Green Food Coloring (to be light green)
- Glaze:
- 1 oz Chocolate Square and 1 Tablespoon Butter

Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in eggs and vanilla. Fold cooled melted chocolate. Fold in flour, and nuts

Pour into greased 8x8 pan, 350° about 30 min.
Mint Frosting and Glaze
- 1
Combine Mint Frosting ingredients, Beat well and spread over cooled brownies. Let stand till set.

Glaze: melt the chocolate and butter in double boiler. Cool a little. Spread on the mint frosting (tilting pan helps make it smooth)
notes
Each layer must cool before adding the next. If the mint frosting has not cooled and you had hot chocolate it runs together and you will loose the "layered look". Optional: Add some walnuts to brownie batter.
