Macaroni and Cheese Family Style
Family favorite Macaroni and Cheese. This recipe is very easy to make and is simply delicious!
ingredients
- 1 box - large elbow macaroni
- 5 cups shredded cheese - combination of provolone,cheddar,mozzarella
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 3/4 cup panko bread crumbs
- 7 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- ground nutmeg to taste
- kosher salt and coarse black pepper to
- taste

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.Spray baking dish with non-stick spray. Cook macaroni according to package directions - until tender.

In a small sauce pan cook milk but do not let it boil. In a large sauce pan prepare a rue - melt 5 tablespoons butter and whisk in flour. Add hot milk to rue and continue to whisk until sauce thickens - about 2 min. Take off heat and add shredded cheese and seasonings. Thoroughly combine all ingredients. Pour into large 13 by 9 baking dish. Melt remaining butter and combine with bread crumbs. Sprinkle topping over macaroni. Bake for 30 minutes.
