Grandma's Shrimp Creole
Spicy creole dish to be served over hot rice.
ingredients
- 4 green onions, chopped
- 1/2 C celery, chopped
- 1/2 C green pepper, chopped
- 2 Tbsp butter or margarine
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 28-oz can stewed tomatoes
- 1 small can tomato paste
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp dried parsley or 2 Tbsp fresh
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1-2 lbs raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
directions
Simmer all ingredients, except shrimp, for 15 minutes. Spread raw shrimp in 9x13 casserole. Pour sauce over shrimp and bake at 350° until shrimp is fully cooked (no longer pink).
