Sweet Bread
Heavenly breakfast treat!
ingredients
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 2 pkgs dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm water (105-115 degrees)
- 2 eggs beaten
- 4 cups flour
- Cream Cheese filling:
- 2-8 oz. softened cream cheese
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1 egg beaten
- 1/8 tsp-1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Glaze:
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 4 tbl. pet milk
- 2 tsp vanilla
- toasted sliced almonds

Heat sour cream over low heat, stir in sugar, salt and butter. Cool until lukewarm.

Sprinkle yeast over 1/2 cups warmwater in a large bowl, stir until dissolvewd, add sour cream. Mix Eggs and flour, and mix well.

Covewr and refrigerate overnight.

Preheat oven 375 degrees.

Divide dough into 4 parts, roll onto floured board into 12x8 rectangle, spread with 1/4 cream cheese filling.

Roll these jelly roll fashion. Fold ends under slightly. Place rolls seam side down on lightly greased cookie sheets. 2 to a sheet. Make small slits on top of rolls - 2’ apart. Cover and let rise until doubled in size, approximately 1 hour.

Bake 12-15 minutes

Glaze while warm.

Time consuming, but worth it!!! These may be made ahead and frozen. Great to have on hand for guests.
