Sausage and Thyme Stuffing

Gary’s Mom gave me this recipe.

ingredients

  • 1 loaf bread, broken into small pieces
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 qt milk
  • 1/2 cut butter (1 stick)
  • 1 roll of Jones(frozen)sausage meat, defrosted
  • 1 large onion, mince
  • thyme, use as much as desired

directions

  • 1

    Soak bread with eggs and milk.

  • 2

    Saute onion in butter and add sausage meat. Cook and stir until mixture is smooth.

    Combine meat mixture with bread mixture and add thyme. Mix with hands for a smooth texture.

  • 4

    Bake in casserole dish or stuff bird.

  • 5

    Bake at least one hour at 350°F covered and then an additional 15 minutes uncovered.

notes

If you prefer a more textured stuffing you can use packaged seasoned cubed bread stuffing as a substitute for bread.
