ingredients
- 2 3 inch cinnamon sticks
- 8 1/4 inch slices fresh ginger or 1/2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp whole cloves (24)
- 1/4 tsp cardamom
- 4 cups cold water
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 16 black tea bags
- 4 cups cold milk

for the spice bag cut a double thickness 6 inch square of cotton cheesecloth. Place spices in the center of the cloth. Gather the corners and tie with a clean string.

in a large saucepan water and sugar. Add spice bag to sugar mixture. Bring to a full boil; remove saucepan from heat. Immediately add tea bags.

Cover and let steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Remove spice bag and tea bags.

In a small saucepan heat milk until hot. Combine milk and tea in a pitcher. Beat with a whisk until frothy .
