Texas Chocolate Sheet Cake

The family favorite
ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter
- 4 Tablespoons cocoa
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 eggs, well beaten
- Icing:
- 3 Tablespoons cocoa
- 1/2 cup butter
- 6 Tablespoons milk
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Sift together the dry ingredients.

Bring the butter, cocoa and water to a boil and pour over the dry ingredients.

Add the buttermilk, soda, vanilla, cinnamon and eggs.

Mix all ingredients well and pour into a greased and floured sheet pan. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

Bring cocoa, butter and milk to a rapid boil. Add powdered sugar, vanilla and nuts. Beat and spread over hot cake.
