Eisenhower Fudge

This recipe is from my mother’s 1968 Home Economics class.

  • 4 1/2 c. sugar
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 12 oz. German sweet chocolate
  • 12 oz. semi-sweet morsels
  • 1 pint marshmallow creme
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 cups chopped nuts
Save a shopping List


Boil sugar, butter, milk, and salt together for 6 minutes. Have remaining ingredients ready in a large bowl. Pour boiling syrup over ingredients in the bowl. Beat until chocolate is melted. Pour into buttered pans and let stand for a few hours before cutting.
