Mom's Chocolate Chip Cookies
This recipe makes a bunch and that’s a good thing! You’ll want enough to share, but enough to keep for yourself too!
ingredients
- 1 pound butter, melted
- 1 box dark brown sugar
- 2 and 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 Tablespoon vanilla
- 5 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 12 ounces chocolate chips
- optional: add toffee pieces, oatmeal, granola
directions
- 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2
In a large mixing bowl, mix butter & sugars together until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla and mix thoroughly. In a separate bowl, mix dry ingredients together. Add to wet ingredients and stir together until just blended - do not overmix! Stir in chocolate chips (and whatever optional ingredients you desire). This dough is fairly dry.

Drop by tablespoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Cookies will seem a little undercooked & that’s okay. You don’t want to overbake these!
