Sausage, Peppers, Onions


A favorite for Christmas, graduations, anniversary parties, and other large family/friends gatherings. It started out as an appetizer at a Christmas gathering at Jim and Terry’s. After that it became a favorite that family made sure was brought to any gathering. Besides family, friends enjoyed the sausages at other large gatherings. When Grandma Joan was at the gatherings a separate batch of peppers without onions was prepared especially for her.


  • Italian sausages
  • Green Peppers
  • Red Peppers
  • Orange Peppers
  • Onions
  • Olive oil
  • water
  • Basil
  • Oregano
  • Garlic salt
  • Crushed Red Pepper

    Par cook sausages in a large pot of boiling water.

    Brown sausages on grill or in frying pan.

  • 3

    Slice peppers and onions into strips.

  • 4

    Cook peppers and onions in equal parts oil and water.

  • 5

    Add seasonings to preferred taste.

  • 6

    Cook until softened.

  • 7

    Put sausages and pepper mixture in a slow cooker to keep warm or in a Nesko depending on size of batch.

    Serve on good buns.

    When serving as an appetizer, cut into thirds or in half.
