HOT 'N SWEET ASPARAGUS & BROCCOLI
Like it says, this is hot and sweet. Serve this vegetable when the main dish is otherwise a mild or plain affair. This will add the “zest” to make your meal sing!
ingredients
- 1/2 c honey
- 2 T soy sauce
- 1 T ground ginger
- 1/2 to 1 T crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 lb broccoli, trimmed
- 1/2 lb asparagus, trimmed
- 2 T olive oil

Combine honey, soy sauce, ginger and red pepper.

Cut up broccoli and slice through stems when necessary for uniform pieces. Diagonally slice asparagus.

Heat oil in large skillet; add broccoli and asparagus and stir-fry over med-high heat for 2 minutes. Add 1/2 c water to pan; cover and steam vegetables for 2 minutes or until tender-crisp. Drain water from pan.

Add honey mixture and cook uncovered until glaze thickens - about 2 minutes.

Serve while still hot.
notes
Something different for a vegetable. You control the "hot" by the amount of red pepper.
