Mommy's Meatballs
Mommy’s Meatballs from Nanny’s recipe.
ingredients
- Corn oil to coat cast iron pan
- 3 pounds of ground beef
- 2 eggs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Basil
- Garlic salt
- Parsley flakes
- Parmesean cheese
- Ketchup
- 8 slices of white bread de-crusted
- Bread crumbs to coat

1. Coat cast iron pan with corn oil.

2. In a large metal bowl, combine ground beef with eggs, salt, pepper, garlic salt, parsley, parmesean cheese, and ketchup.

3. Run decrusted bread in hands in hot water to saturate. Squeeze out until bread is “doughy” consistency.

4. Break the bread into pieces and add to the meat mixture.

5. Mix meat and bread mixture with fork and then combine with hands.

6. Roll mixture into medium-sized balls.

7. Roll meatballs in bread crumbs.

8. Fry on medium heat until dark brown on all sides.

9. Add to sauce.
notes
If meat mixture is too wet from ketchup or eggs, add breadcrumbs.
