Easy Baked Pork Chops with Apples

ingredients
- 4 pork chops, about 1 1/2 inches thick (we use boneless)
- 2 tart apples, halved and cored, unpeeled (we use red or yellow, sweet or tart)
- salt and pepper to taste
- sugar

Sprinkle chops with salt and pepper and place in a baking dish. Place one apple half, cut side down, on each chop and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes, basting often, until meat is browned.

Serve with stove-top stuffing or mashed potatoes, and a vegetable.

Juices may be thickened with sour cream before serving. We haven’t tried it.

Line the baking dish with aluminum foil for easy clean up.

Sugar on the apples is optional

Don’t have to baste.

For well-done chops, cook about 60 minutes.
