Apple Cheese Torte

ingredients

Crust:
  • 1 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 cup flour
  • Cream together butter and sugar, add vanilla and flour. Blend well. Press into the bottom of a large spring form pan and 3/4 of the way up the sides.
Filling:
  • 3-8 oz. pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 heaping cup sugar
  • 1 tbs. vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • Beat cream cheese and sugar together. Add vanilla and eggs. Beat together well. Pour into crust.
Apple Topping:
  • 5-6 apples, peeled and sliced
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 2 tbs. flour
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • sliced almonds
  • Peel and slice apples, microwave for 3-4 minutes to partially cook the apples. Combine sugar, flour, and cinnamon then add to apples. Add lemon juice. Arrange apples on top of the filling then add the juice. Sprinkle with sliced almonds if desired. Push crust on the sides even with apples

directions

Bake 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Then lower oven to 400 degrees and bake for 35 to 45 minutes or until the middle is set. Serve warm or cold.
