SHRIMP MARINARA

This was my first “company” dinner after Uncle Howie and I got married in 1970. It’s still a favorite!

ingredients

Shrimp
  • 1 1/2 lb extra large shrimp (3 lbs unshelled)...clean and devein
Marinara Sauce
  • 2 minced onions
  • 6 TBL olive oil
  • 1 lb 13 oz can Italian style tomatoes
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1/8 tsp basal
  • 1/8 tsp pepper

directions

For Shrimp

Boil water...put in shrimp...remove when shrimp turn pink

For Marinara Sauce

  • 1

    Saute onions in olive oil,

  • 2

    add tomatoes (break up slightly),

  • 3

    add tomato sauce, salt, oregano, basal, and pepper.

  • 4

    Cover and simmer 20 minutes.

  • 5

    Add shrimp.

  • 6

    Simmer until hot (about 10 minutes).

Good served over rice.
