Banana Chocolate Cake

ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups sifted cake flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 ounces (squares) chocolate melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup mashed ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup buttermilk

Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt together in a bowl and set aside.

Cream shortening with sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time beating thoroughly after each one. Add chocolate and mix well. Stir in vanilla. Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with bananas and buttermilk in small amounts, beating well.

Pour into 2 9 inch greased cake pans and bake 30-35 minutes at 350.
