ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 2 1/4 cups (1 lb) brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

    Preheat over to 350*. Grease 13x9 pan.

    Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.

    Melt shortening in large pan. Remove shortening from heat; add brown sugar and mix well. Add eggs, mix well. Add dry ingredients, mix well.

    LET BATTER COOL.

  • 5

    Add chocolate chips and nuts. Mix well. Spread batter in pan.

    Bake 30-35 minutes.
