Martha Washington Candy
This is a recipe we made every Christmas. All my Christmas memories include this candy! I loved to help my Mom make the chocolates and dip them into the melted chocolates and wax,
ingredients
- 2 boxes powdered confectioners sugar
- 2 cups pecans
- 1 cup melted butter (2 sticks of margarine soft)
- 1 tsp. Vanilla
- 1 block of paraffin
- 2 12 oz packages of chocolate chips
- 2 cups coconut-optional
directions
- 1
Mix sugar, butter, vanilla and milk until well blended. Add nuts. You can split the dough and add coconut to part of it, and leave part plain.
- 2
Roll in balls and chill in refrigerator.
- 3
Melt over a bain Marie (bolling water in double boiler pan, mixture in the top pan) chocolate chips and paraffin. You can substitute the Almond bark melting chocolate for this.
- 4
Stick a toothpick in candy balls and dip in chocolate mixture. Dot hole left by toothpick with a dot of chocolate. Place on waxed paper to cool.
