Turkish Nut Dip (Muhammara)

ingredients
- 3/4 c. broken walnuts
- 1 small garlic clovs
- 3 thick slices of white bread, lightly toasted
- 2 ripe sweet red peppers, cored and seeded
- 1 small fresh or canned green chili pepper, seeded if too hot
- juice of 1 lemon
- 2-3 T olive oil
- salt, pepper to taste
- toasted pita bread or Stacy’s Pita Chips

Toast nuts in oven until fragrant. Cool. Chop nuts, garlic and bread in food processor. Add red peppers, green peppper, lemon juice. Process to a thick paste.

With food processor running, ad olive oil until consistency is similar to pesto.

Season with salt, pepper, lemon juice to taste.

Chill at least 2 hours.

Serve with pita chips or raw vegetables.
