Mashed Potato Gratin
ingredients
- 4 pounds Yukon gold potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1 cup (4-ounces) fontina cheese, shredded & divided
- 3/4 cup (3-ounces) Gruyere cheese, shredded & divided
- 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup low fat milk, warm
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- green onions
- garlic powder

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Place potatoes in dutch oven, cover with water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 15 min. until tender. Drain and return to pan.

Add 3/4 cup fontina, 1/2 cup Gruyere, butter, salt & pepper, garlic powder (to taste), sour cream and mash until combined. Add warm milk and continue mashing.

Spoon into 13x9 greased pan. Top with remaining cheese and green onions.

Bake approximately 20 min. until brown and bubbly.
