Easy appetizer....can be made ahead and frozen. Best if kept warm throughout serving period. During party, I served these from an electric skillet (on low) with fabric napkins on bottom of skillet to keep sausage balls from getting crisp.

ingredients

  • 1 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 lb. hot sausage (use uncooked - spicy)
  • 3 cups biscuit mix

directions

  • 1

Combine cheese with sausage and gradually add biscuit mix. Form into 1-inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet, the kind with sides, as grease will build up while cooking.

  • 2

Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown. Let thoroughly cool and may be frozen at this stage. To serve, heat in oven ’til warm.
