Pearl's Mock Lasagna
ingredients
- 1 1/2 packages wide egg noodles
- 1 large package cream cheese
- 2 1/2 to 3 pounds ground beef
- 1 pint sour cream
- 1 large can tomato puree
- chopped onion, scallion or chives
- sharp cheddar cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
- oregano to taste
- sugar (optional)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Saute ground beef in large pan. Add tomato and a pinch of sugar.

Salt, pepper and oregano to taste.

In medium bowl, mix cream cheese, onions and sour cream together.

Cook noodles and place in large casserole dish, reserving a small portion for later.

To casserole dish, add a layer of meat (reserving a small portion) and a layer of cream cheese mixture.

Top with remaining noodles and meat.

Cover casserole with a layer of cheddar cheese.

Bake for 30 minutes.

This recipe can easily be made ahead of time and refrigerated. If doing this, reserve cheddar cheese topping until you are ready to bake.
