Hearty breakfast or brunch casserole.

ingredients

  • 1 lb. pork sausage
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 C. milk
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. ground mustard (powdered mustard)
  • 6 slices white bread, cut into 1/2" cubes
  • 1 C. (4 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese

directions

Brown and crumble sausage in skillet, drain, set aside. In large bowl, beat eggs; add milk, salt and mustard. Stir in bread cubes, cheese and sausage. Pour into greased 11 x 7 baking dish. Cover and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. Remove from refrigerator 30 min. before baking. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 40 min. or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.

notes

When it's done baking you can put more cheese on the top and return to oven until cheese melts, if you choose.
