Crunchy Tossed Salad

ingredients
DRESSING:- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 Tbsp vinegar
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 large head iceberg lettuce
- 6 bacon strips, cooked and crumbled (more is good)
- 1/3 cup sliced almonds, toasted (more is good)
- 1/4 cup sesame seeds, toasted
- 4 green onions, sliced
- 3/4 cup chow mien noodles

In a jar with a tight fitting lid, combine oil, sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper. Shake well. Chill 1 hour.

Just before serving, combine lettuce, bacon, almonds, sesame seeds and onions in a large bowl. Add dressing and toss. Top with chow mien noodles.

This recipe is easily doubled for a large gathering. It's very popular, one of our favorites and there is usually nothing left. Recipe from Joan and Lois.
