Ingredients

  • 1 c. butter
  • 2 1/4 c. flour
  • 1 t. baking powder
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • 1 1/4 c. brown sugar (loosely packed)
  • 1 1.2 t. spreculass kruiden (spice - mix
  • 1 t. cinnamon, 1/2.t. cardoman, 1/2 t
  • ginger, 1/2 t. nutmeg, 3/4 t.cloves)
  • 1 T. milk
  • 1/2 t. lemon juice
  • 3/4 c. marzipan
  • egg wash

    Sift dry ingredients, cut in butter (like pie crust), and knead together other with sugar, spice, milk, and lemon juice. Wrap up in plastic and chill in fridge for at least 2 hours.

    Roll out doug and cut 3 in. rounds. Put 2 t. marzipan in center, dap egg wash at outer edge to seal. Brush with egg was and place 1 almond in centre. Bake at 320 for 25 min or so
