Judy's Pinto Beans
ingredients
- 1 lb. pinto beans
- 1/2 lb. bacon
- 1 1/2 onions chopped
- 1-14 0z can Italian tomatoes or 1-10 oz can pureed tomatoes
- 1 t. salt
- 1/2 t. pepper
- 1 T. chili powder
- 1/2 t. oregano
- 1 T. dry mustard
- 1 1/2 T. water

Wash beans and place in kettle with
- 2
5 c. water. Soak overnight. Add water to cover beans well and bring to a boil. Add bacon,diced onion,and tomato. Cover and simmer until tender about 2 hours. Add spices mixed with water last half hour of cooking.
