TWENTY FOUR HOUR SALAD
ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 4 tbsp. sugar
- 4 tbsp. vinegar
- 4 tbsp. pineapple juice (from pineapple below)
- 2 tbsp. butter
- pinch of salt
- 2 – 14 oz. fruit cocktail, drained
- 2 – 14 oz. pineapple pieces, drained (juice used above)
- 1 cup seedless grapes, halved (optional)
- 2 sliced bananas (optional)
- 4 cups small marshmallows
- 2 cups whipping cream

Beat eggs with spoon in top of double boiler. Stir in sugar, vinegar, juice, butter and salt. Cook and stir over boiling water until thickened. Chill thoroughly.

Add well drained fruit to chilled egg mixture. Add grapes, banana and marshmallows.

Whip cream until stiff. Fold into fruit. Chill overnight for twenty-four hours.
