Apple Oatmeal Crisp

ingredients
- 4 cups sliced,peeled, tart cooking apples
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2-4 tablespoons sugar, depending on tartness of apples
- 1 cup rolled oats, either old fashioned or quick cooking
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup flour
- 5 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Pinch of salt

Preheat oven to 375. Place apples in greased shallow baking dish (or individuals). Sprinkle with lemon juice and sugar, mix well.

Combine remaining ingredients and sprinkle over the apples. Bake for about 30 minutes until apples are tender (shorter for individuals). Serve warm with ice cream!

*I often make 1 1/2 times the topping for extra crunch!

This is a terrific apple crisp, from the New York Times Cookbook. Serve warm with Haagen Daz Vanilla. Using individual ramekins is a very nice touch!
