Chicken Fried Steak
I love chicken fried steak with white gravy. This is the recipe I always use.
ingredients
- 1 pound top round steak
- 3 cups buttermilk
- 2 teaspoons hot sauce
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tbs. onion powder, garlic powder, salt and black pepper
- 1 cup vegetable oil for frying

Marinate steak in buttermilk and hot sauce overnight or 4hrs.

Preheat oil to 350 degrees

Mix seasonings in flour mixture.

Take steak from buttermilk to flour back to buttermilk and back to flour again. (You are double dipping the steaks)

Fry at least 3 minutes on each side until done.

Taste a little bit of the crust to see if you need to add any more seasoning...if so add while steaks are still hot.
