Mom and Dad's Fried Catfish
Several years ago we started the new tradition of having a catfish fry on Christmas Eve. Now we have one almost every time Brian or I go home.
ingredients
- farm raised catfish (Chris Efurd orders these)
- salt
- regular cornmeal
- Zatarain’s Crispy Southern Style Mix
- peanut oil
- you need an outside deep fryer for this recipe
directions

Wash and pat dry fish; salt.
- 2
Mix cornmeal, salt and Zatarain’s mix (however much mix you are making use half cornmeal and half Zatarain’s).

Dip fish into mixture.

Fry in peanut oil at 350 degrees.

Place fish in a paper towel lined pan.

Serve with cheese grits & mom's sweet pickles.
