Pepper Steak
Simple and flavorful!
ingredients
- 1# sirloin steak, sliced thin
- 2 Tbsp corn starch
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp pepper
- 2 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1 10 oz can beef consomme
- 1 green pepper, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- 4 Tbsp oil
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 1 can mushrooms, drained
directions
In large bowl make a paste of cornstarch and soy sauce. Add meat, salt, pepper and garlic salt stirring to coat well. In large skillet over medium high heat, saute onion and pepper in oil until crisp tender. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from skillet, add a little more oil and brown meat. Add consomme, peppers, onions,and mushrooms. Stir well and simmer 15 minutes. Serve over rice.
notes
I like to add sliced water chestnuts, baby corn, diced carrot, bean sprouts and serve topped with cashews.
