Anadama Bread
“A fisherman, angry with his wife, Anna, for serving him nothing but cornmeal and molasses, one day adds flour and yeast to his porridge and eats the resultant bread, while cursing, ’Anna, damn her.’”
ingredients
- 1 1/8 cups of water
- 1/3 cup of molasses
- 1 1/2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup of cornmeal
- 3 1/2 cups of bread flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons of dry yeast
directions
Put wet ingredients in bottom of bread machine pan, then add mixed dry ingredients on top. Bake as directed by bread machine.
