Biscuits Supreme
This makes the best baking powder biscuit to smother with egg or sausage gravy. Good for or breakfast or dinner.
ingredients
- 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
- 2 tsp. sugar
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2/3 cup milk
directions

Mix dry ingredients in one bowl and with an electric mixer mix in the shortening until crumbly. Mix liquid ingredients in another bowl then pour into dry mixture and stir until just moist. The less you work the dough the more flaky and fluffy your biscuits will turn out.

Roll the dough onto a floured surface to about 1-inch thick. Cut out each biscuit to the size you’d like and place on a baking sheet.

Bake in a preheated oven of 450° for 10 to 12 minutes until golden brown.
