Sunbeam Waffles

This recipe came with Mom’s (Leona Halseth) new Sunbeam Electric Waffle Iron. It makes the best fluffy waffles. Our favorite topping has always been real unsweetened plain whipped cream with brown sugar sprinkled on top.
ingredients
- 3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
- 4 tsp double acting baking powder (or 5 tsp fast-acting)
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp sugar
- Melt and cool: 2/3 cup butter
- Beat separately: 4 egg whites
- In a large bowl beat:
- 4 egg yolks
- 2 cups milk
directions
Add sifted dry ingredients, add melted butter. Beat only to blend the rest of the ingredients. Last fold in the eggs whites.
