Carillon's Lasagna
ingredients
Meat Sauce Layer:- 1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
- 1 1/2 lb. Italian sausage (’hot’ if you dare)
- 1 cup diced onions
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 2-3 large jars of good quality prepared tomato/spaghetti sauce
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Oven-ready lasagna noodles (no need to pre-cook), enough to cover pan three times
- 3 containers cottage cheese
- 2 packages of frozen chopped spinach (thawed and drained)
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup parmesan cheese
- 2 large bags of shredded mozzarella cheese (or more to taste)

Brown beef, sausage, onions, and garlic. Drain off fat. Add tomato sauce, wine, and Worcestershire sauce.

In a large and deep roasting/lasagne pan, layer 1/3 of the meat sauce, 1/3 of the noodles, 1/3 of the cottage cheese layer, and 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers, 3 times. Sprinkle with Parmesan and bake at 350 F. for 40 minutes. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.
