  • 1 pt. Sour cream
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 5 to 6 cups flour- 5 to mix, hold 6th cup until next morning to add if dough is sticky.
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • powdered sugar

    Beat eggs lightly in bowl. Add melted butter. Sift all dry except baking soda. Put sour cream in a medium bowl. Stir in baking soda (baking soda will make the cream rise) Add cream to eggs and butter. Add sifted ingredients. Mix well. Let set overnight in refrigerator.

    Roll out and cut rectangles (approx. 4” x 2”) Cut two slits to make twist. Fry in hot oil until brown. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
