Santa's Boots
ingredients
- 1 cu honey
- 1 cu sugar
- 2 tbsp orange juice
- 1 oz each citron,candied orange peel, lemon peel
- 2 cu blanched almonds
- 2 cu sifted flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon,cloves,nutmeg,
- allspice
- confectioner’s sugar frosting
- red sugar
directions
Heat honey Add sugar and juice; stir until sugar is dissolved. Force citron,peels,and nuts through food chopper, using fine blade. Add to first mixture. Add sifted dry ingredients. Cover, and regrigerate 8 days. roll very thin on floured board, and cut with floured Santa’s-boot cutter. Bake on greased cookie sheets in moderate over, 325 deg. about 10 min. Remove at once to racks to cool. Spread with frosting.
