Brown Sugar Pralines
ingredients
- 1 lb golden brown sugar
- 2/3 cup evaporated milk
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp vanilla
- dash of salt
- 2 cup pecan halves
directions
In 3 quart heavy saucepan, combine sugar, evaporated milk and butter. Place over high heat, stir constantly until boiling. Reduce heat to medium and continue cooking until soft ball stage. Remove from heat. Add vanilla, salt and pecan halves and beat with wooden spoon until mixture just starts to thicken (2-4 minutes). Drop from spoon into paper-lined muffing pans (If candy becomes too stiff while spooning, heat gently to soften.) Cool.
