Canned Apples
ingredients
- Slice apples and fill 7 qt. jars
- 4 1/2 c. sugar
- 2 t. cinnamon
- 1 t. salt
- 3 T. lemon juice
- 1 c. cornstarch
- 1/8 t. nutmeg
- 10 c. water
directions
Mix all ingredients except apples and lemon juice. Use a little water to get the cornstarch mixed, then add the rest of the water, bring to a bubbling boil and boil until thick. Add lemon juice and pour over the apples in jars and cook in hot water bath for 20 minutes.

Is also a good filling for a pie. Just dump in crust and bake!
