Cocoa Nuggets
Very rich chocolate cookies
ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups flour
- 1/2 cup plus 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
- 3 tablespoons powdered sugar

In medium bowl, combine flour, 1/2 cup cocoa and salt, set aside. In a large mixer bowl, cream butter and granulated sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy. Gradually add dry ingredients and vanilla. Beat just until well blended. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 1 hour or overnight.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Shape dough into 1 inch balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet. (May place close together as cookies do not expand.) Bake for 12 minutes. Let cookies stand on sheet for 2 to 3 minutes before removing to wire cooling racks.

In a small bowl, combine remaining 3 tablespoons cocoa and powdered sugar. May sift over cookies or roll cookies in mixture.

May freeze up to 3 months.
