Grandma Gerry’s Sugar Cookies



  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup corn oil
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 4 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cream of tartar

Cream together butter, oil and sugars. Add vanilla and eggs and mix. Add remaining ingredients. Refrigerate several hours. Roll by hand into 1 inch balls. Flatten with a glass covered with sugar. Sprinkle more sugar on top. Bake at 350 until edges are light brown, 10 minutes or less.
