MRS. CLEARY'S ITALIAN SPAGHETTI SAUCE
ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1/2 green pepper, chopped
- 1 large onion, minced
- 2 cans tomato paste
- 1 quart tomatoes, stewed or 1 quart tomato juice
- 1 can mushrooms, drained
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes
- 2-3 bay leaves
- 1/2 tsp. or more oregano, gives the good Italian flavor
- salt and pepper to taste

Fry together beef, green pepper and onion. When done add 2 cans tomato paste, 1 qt. tomatoes (stewed) or 1 qt. tomato juice.

Simmer for 3 hours on the lowest heat. Stir occasionally so it doesn’t stick.
