Pecan Cheese Rounds
This basic dough can also be made into cheese straws.
ingredients
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 1/2 pound grated sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- Whole toasted pecans

Preheat over 375 degrees.

Cream butter and cheese together until very well incorporated. Add flour, salt, and cayenne pepper, and blend thoroughly. Roll dough out onto a lightly floured surface, to approximately 1/2 inch thickness. Cut out rounds with a standard round biscuit or cookie cutter. Lightly press a whole pecan into the center of each round. Transfer to ungreased baking sheet and bake 8-10 minutes, or until puffed and very lightly colored.
