Barbecue Beans
Always a hit at the BBQ!
ingredients
- 1/2 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 pound ground beef (optional)
- 10 bacon slices, cooked and crumbled (I often use less)
- 2/3 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup barbecue sauce (it’s important to use a sauce you really like, as you can taste it)
- 1 (15-ounce) can kidney beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 (15-ounce) can butter beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 (15-ounce) can pork and beans, undrained
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- I like to have a variety of color with the beans that I use so I often will use black beans, great northern beans or chickpeas. Any kind work. :)
directions

Bake bean mixture at 350° for 1 hour, stirring once.
